ABOUT THE PROJECT
Women are one of the topics chosen by designers in the 1950s and 1960s. The inspiration was both: modern girls, beautiful, young, bold, close to the aesthetics of pop-art drawing as well as more women.
This is how the porcelain figurine Girl with a vase was created. Tomaszewski designed a simple, vertical form of a woman supporting a vase from the bottom with the right hand and the left one from the top (forming the openwork in a figurine). The woman has her hair pulled back and tied with a shawl.
Decoration is similar to, for example, figurines Relax or Firl at her first ball with thin, black highlighting strips. It requires great precision and great patience. It is painted in three stages - first the painter adorns one part of the figurine, then waits for the ceramic paint to dry to start working on the other side of the sculpture.
Unfortunately, the dedication can not be placed on the figurine (the figurine does not have enough space).
The figurine is often chosen for a gift for porcelain lovers.
It will be also an ideal gift for beginner collectors.
